Anyone know how or if it's possible to search a page for text and replace it with something else? All I can find is the ability to change the "value" of an element. Thanks

ps: Trying to populate a textarea element.

I can't think of a way to do it using that object alone, but you may have to download each webpage using another extension (GET/download/etc) to the local harddrive then open it up as a text file, parse and replace the words then tell the Web Object to open up the local file.

I don't have MMF2 open at the moment, but that's just a complicated hunch.

I needed to have it work both remotely and local, which your suggestion to parse would work for local...but I would still need a remote solution.

I mean that you would first download the remote page as a local file, then parse it, then load it as a local file in the Web Object.

Eg. Download object downloads ""http://www.google.com/index.html", saves to C:\webobject\index.html

C:\webobject\index.html, replacing words

Display C:\webobject\index.html

Can't you display the source file from the internet?

Not sure what you mean. But I essentially need it to do what firebug does and do a live edit of the html. Am trying to do kinda like an advanced form fill out except textareas wont fill out.
