Hey, I thought I'd share this little program I knocked up.
I have a slight colorblind condition, effecting Green/Brown and Purple/Blue. As I'm sometimes required to do a bit of graphic design work, people rely on me to make sure that their logos are blue and not purple, or green and not brown. For the 12% of people that have similar color deficiencies, Colorblind Assistant is a great tool for discerning which colors are the correct ones to use.
The software reads from the pixel at mouse point and identifies the closest named color. Color names won't always be spot on (it's impossible to have names for all 16 million colors), but the color can be further analysed via RGB (Red, Green and Blue) values, Brightness and Saturation.
So far tests are solid for Windows 7, if anyone encounters problems with other OS or lower-end hardware, please report.
The installer is included, however the software is quick to uninstall and leaves no perminant files or registry values.
