Bid Request (Active Voxel)

A active Voxel Object was being developed, but at the request of the author the source WIP was given to us in hopes of finding another author.

General Info on Voxels: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voxel

Basically the object would use voxels or a a 3d array of pixels to create the illusion of 3d in the form of a active object. All other functions of the object should remain identical to the standard Active Object.

Requested Specific Features

*Render Voxel Models and rotate them on three axis (X,Y,Z)
*Import Voxel models into object, internally or externally
*Simple Voxel editor, like picture editor but for voxels
*maintain all functionality of a Active Object

I don't see the need for a built-in voxel editor as there is an editor here http://www.ppmsite.com/downloads/VXLSE_III_1.37.exe & for animating here http://www.ppmsite.com/downloads/OSHVABUILDER_2.1.exe, however if one can be included without too much trouble why not?

I think both those programs are open-source so they're well worth a look if your building the voxel editor for the extension.

I think it would be a good object, maybe not everyone knows about this area yet still.

It should be part of the main extensions area or there should be a sticky post there about it. I made a thread a while back to let people know and most had not noticed it, i think Kisguri said something about it being edited but it seems the same still.

This is the Bidding Pool not a development thread, here Clickteam Communicates to third part developers, letting know which extension projects we are after and see if any third party developers would be interested in bidding on doing the work. In other words it's kinda of a Contract work available area. Everyone can see it to allow for maximum exposure.

Well yeah thats what i was thinking, it would still be better in the main area though or maybe directly under it in position. I say that because thats where all the extension developers will be checking more often. Right now near the bottom of the list it seems out of sight/focus.

I didn't really know what voxels were but now I have read up on it, it looks very interesting. If this could be compatible with HWA to make it fast to render then I am sure many people would find uses for it.

There was a demo of it working in that it would move and rotate the voxel etc.
