With OINC nearing the 1.0 version anytime soon,
it's time to look ahead and abandon the moo extension.

The plan is to close down the moo server later this summer.
This way users will have the time convert their current games and applications to the OINC extension.

OINC has preceded MOO on all fronts
and from a KlikFarm perspective running MOO isn't all that great,
it's requires more resources and it's very inefficient regarding data consumption.

Depending on the futher progress of OINC, shutting down MOO is planned for september.

Since the development of OINC is going fast and a stable 1.0 version is out MOO will be shutdown on september 1st.
So if you are using MOO for your games/applications please port them to OINC.

Hang on, what servers to people use then?
I mean, if the moo servers go down, what kind of servers go up?

An OINC server is provided with the OINC zip. You can simply run the server.exe and configure .

In the near future MMF will be able to communicate with the oinc server. Launch the server file from MMF. Or create your own server using Python (POINC).

Due to some new bugs and stability issues in the latest OINC build, MOO will stay online for now, most likely during the whole month of september.

Great initiative, klikfarm will keep moo online due to recent developments with OINC, but when OINC does get fully stable I will shut it down.

Perhaps you can offer premium hosting for OINC too later on. As MOO has so some big stability flaws, crash the server by sending 8 bytes

How about memory and cpu guarantees?

Which 8 bytes would that be? I use my own MOO server source, written in Java using asynchronous network I/O. It seems to work well in constrained environments.
